This year by some great "coincidence", the Elks were doing a back to school give away and bbq the same day as the clothing give away, and also at Oaks park. Shannon Ernst, director of social services, heard about it and wanted to make it into a Fallon Community Day. We were excited, because we were hoping this clothing give away would bring the community together. So, this was even better than we hoped. It was neat-lots of free stuff for kids and adults alike: bounce houses, hair cuts, bbq, dental checks, bicycle repair, back to school supplies, and swimming. Also, there were lots of booths for different services that are available here. The kids got to sit in a cop car and turn the siren on. How cool is that?
