25th Anniversary

Nathan and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary last Sunday.  We celebrated with the youth in our ward, having a Bishop-Youth Discussion at our home.  Nathan asked me to speak and I felt it was important to discuss the principles taught in "The Family: A Proclamation to the World".  There is so much confusion in the world today of the roles that families should play in our lives and the responsibilities of each member.    These principles include love, obedience, faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.  We had a nice time and were glad they came to share it with us.  Jane made the cake for us:)

We did get a 22 hour get away a couple of days later to go to Reno and have some time together and we got to go to the temple:)

Got wood?

Someone from the county called Nathan to see if our families would be interested in helping with a huge tree-felling and removal project.  They would cut the big old cottonwood trees down, and then our job would be to de-limb them, cut them in manageable size peices, and then haul them off.  It's a huge job, and we debated about whether we should do it or not.  We decided to do it, the family in Winnemucca wants wood-there are very few trees where they are at, so it would be helpful to them.
We started Tuesday, early afternoon.  It looks like a very daunting job, but by the time we had been at it for a day, we worked into a good groove where everyone is doing what they can to make things run smoothly and more efficiently.  It's fun to get outside and do hard physical labor to get some good exercise.  And, we have a good-sized work crew:)
